Diana-Redman.com Privacy Policy
1. Introduction
This Privacy Policy and Cookie Policy explains how personal information and cookies are handled when you visit www.diana-redman.com ("the Website").
The Website is the personal website of Diana Redman ("I", "me", "my").
I respect your privacy and aim to collect and use as little personal information as possible.
The Website is hosted by Squarespace. It contains links to third-party websites, including Books2Read and Amazon, and provides an optional mailing-list subscription through MailerLite.
This policy explains what information may be collected, why it is used, and the choices available to you.
2. Who is responsible for your personal information?
The person responsible for personal information collected through this Website is:
Diana Redman
Email: dianaredmanauthor@gmail.com
If you have any questions about this policy or how your personal information is handled, please contact me using the details above.
3. What personal information do I collect?
The Website is primarily an information and promotional website.
I do not intentionally collect sensitive personal information through the Website.
The main circumstances in which personal information may be processed are:
through the normal technical operation of the Squarespace-hosted Website;
when you subscribe to my mailing list;
when you contact me directly; and
when you choose to visit a third-party website through a link on the Website.
I do not sell, rent or otherwise trade your personal information.
I do not use the Website for behavioural advertising, profiling, affiliate tracking or advertising measurement.
4. Website hosting — Squarespace
The Website is hosted by Squarespace.
As part of providing website hosting, security and basic functionality, Squarespace may process certain technical information relating to visitors and their devices.
This may include information such as an IP address, browser type, device information and information necessary to deliver and secure the Website.
I do not use Google Analytics or another separate analytics service to track visitors.
The Activity Log feature in Squarespace Analytics is disabled on this Website. I therefore do not use Squarespace Activity Log data to analyse individual visitors. Squarespace confirms that disabling Activity Log prevents the collection or viewing of visitors' IP addresses and other personal data through that feature.
Squarespace may nevertheless use cookies and similar technologies that are necessary for the operation and security of the Website.
5. Cookies
Cookies are small files or similar technologies that may be stored on your device when you visit a website.
The Website uses Squarespace's cookie-consent functionality.
The current configuration of the Website:
displays a cookie banner;
allows visitors to Accept all cookies;
allows visitors to Decline all non-essential cookies;
allows visitors to Manage cookies and choose their preferences;
allows visitors to change their cookie preferences later; and
restricts non-essential cookies unless the visitor gives the relevant consent.
Strictly necessary cookies may still be used where they are required for the Website or a service requested by the visitor to function.
Under current UK guidance, storage and access technologies such as cookies generally require prior consent unless an applicable exception applies. The ICO also requires users to be given clear information and meaningful control over non-exempt technologies.
6. What cookies are used?
Strictly necessary cookies
Squarespace may use cookies and similar technologies that are necessary for the Website to operate, maintain security and provide functionality requested by visitors.
These cookies do not exist for advertising or behavioural tracking.
Cookie preference cookies
The Website may use a cookie or similar technology to remember the choices you make through the cookie-consent banner.
This enables the Website to remember whether you have accepted, declined or otherwise configured your cookie preferences.
Non-essential cookies
Non-essential cookies are restricted by the Website's Squarespace settings unless the appropriate consent has been given.
I do not intentionally use non-essential cookies for:
advertising;
behavioural profiling;
selling or sharing personal information for advertising purposes;
affiliate tracking; or
advertising measurement.
Analytics cookies
I do not use Google Analytics or another separate analytics service.
Squarespace's Activity Log is also disabled.
7. Mailing list — MailerLite
If you choose to subscribe to my mailing list, I collect the information you provide through the subscription form, normally your email address and, where requested, your name.
The mailing list is managed using MailerLite.
I use your information to send newsletters, updates, news about my books and other communications that you have chosen to receive.
Double opt-in
The mailing list uses double opt-in.
When you enter your email address, MailerLite sends you a confirmation email. You are not added to the active mailing list until you confirm your subscription.
This helps ensure that people are added to the mailing list only when they have confirmed that they wish to subscribe.
MailerLite provides a Data Processing Addendum governing its processing of customer data where data-protection law applies.
Unsubscribing
You can unsubscribe from the mailing list at any time by clicking the unsubscribe link in any marketing email.
If you unsubscribe, I will no longer send you marketing emails through the mailing list.
MailerLite may retain limited information where necessary to record your unsubscribe request, comply with legal requirements or prevent your email address from being inadvertently re-added to the mailing list.
8. Books2Read links
The Website contains links to Books2Read.com, which may be used to help visitors find my books at different book retailers.
Books2Read is a third-party website operated by Draft2Digital.

I do not receive your personal information merely because you click a Books2Read link.
Once you visit Books2Read, its own privacy policy and cookie practices apply.
I have no control over how Books2Read processes information once you leave my Website.
9. Amazon and Kindle links
The Website contains links to Amazon pages where my books, including Kindle editions, may be purchased or accessed.
Clicking an Amazon or Kindle link takes you away from this Website and to Amazon.
I do not receive your Amazon account details, payment information or other personal information simply because you click an Amazon link.
Once you visit Amazon, Amazon's own privacy and cookie policies apply.
I have no control over the information Amazon collects or how Amazon uses it.

The Website may contain links to third-party websites.
These currently include:
